On a $100 attributed Etsy order, Offsite Ads can cost $12 or $15 on top of your standard selling fees. If you had $20 left after ordinary fees and costs, your remaining profit would be $8 or $5, respectively.

Which Offsite Ads rate applies?
| Shop status | Fee on attributed orders |
|---|---|
| Shop has never reached $10,000 in qualifying Etsy sales in a consecutive 365-day period. (Participation is optional) | 15%, capped at $100 per order |
| Shop has reached the threshold. (Participation remains required even if sales fall later) | 12%, capped at $100 per order |
Orders can be attributed when a shopper buys within 30 days of clicking an Offsite Ad. Etsy’s last-click rules may affect which advertising fee applies. Confirm your rate and participation status in Shop Manager.
What margin breaks even?
Subtract the ad fee from your profit before ads. If the fee is below the $100 cap and margin is measured against the eligible order amount, you break even at a 12% or 15% pre-ad margin. Once the cap applies, divide $100 by the eligible order amount to find the effective break-even margin. On a $1,000 eligible order, the capped fee is $100 at either rate, so the effective margin needed is 10%.
